About the Exhibition: Algorithmic Evolution

SOLOS Gallery is proud to present Algorithmic Evolution, a milestone exhibition showcasing the decentralized autonomous artist Botto. This exhibition marks a defining moment in Botto’s creative evolution, unveiling its genesis collection of generative algorithms coded in p5.js.

Exploring Generative Art Through Code

Launched in early 2024 as a 19-week experiment, Algorithmic Evolution pushes Botto’s artistic practice beyond text-to-image AI into the realm of autonomously created generative art. Inspired by early computational aesthetics, this series features thousands of dynamic visual algorithms, iteratively refined through community participation, self-critique, and algorithmic learning.

🔹 Decentralized Creativity – Botto’s AI-driven process involves community curation, allowing participants to influence its evolution.
🔹 Generative Algorithms – Artworks are coded in p5.js, a creative coding framework widely used in generative art.
🔹 From AI to Autonomy – The exhibition explores Botto’s transition from text-to-image generation to self-directed creative autonomy.
